Woah, It’s Been a Wild Ride!

August and most of September have been absolutely crazy for me. As you might remember from my previous posts, I’ve been working my butt off as a broke singleton, clocking in 6 days a week from 05:45 to 22:00. During my spare moments, I’ve been hustling to make some extra cash.

The Iboga Plant Experiment

Let’s start with my Iboga plant experiment. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a big flop. It could’ve been due to various factors – maybe too much ventilation or not enough humidity in my homemade greenhouse. To turn things around, I decided to order a mini greenhouse for just £2 on Temu (which is like the UK’s version of Wish or Alibaba). With the right conditions and some lessons learned, I’m planning to give it another shot. This time, I’m keeping it in my airing cupboard, which seems like the perfect place for germination given our lovely summer weather.

My £5 Victory

I hit a personal milestone when I made my first £5! I brought a Monster Monstera plant from The Range, which was having a great sale on indoor plants. These plants may have looked a bit worse for wear, but they’re surprisingly easy to revive. Not only that, they grow like crazy! I recently tried propagating a couple of snips and, fingers crossed, they seem to be doing well. My neighbour even wanted some, so I sold her two snips for a fiver. All it takes is a glass of water and some patience. I was thinking of donating the money to a care home, but they insisted I keep it.

The 3D Printing Adventure

Now, let me take you down the rabbit hole of 3D printing. It’s not as simple as buying a printer and creating something amazing. There are different types of printers, and I promise to delve deeper into this topic in a future post to help others navigate this exciting world.

I placed an order for a 3D printer on September 3rd, and it’s been stuck in delivery limbo ever since. The good news is that I managed to reroute it to the post office for tomorrow’s pickup. I scored a used one for £180 on eBay, which claimed it was used for six months. Whether that’s a good deal or not, I’m about to find out. I went for an FDM version with a larger printing bed. My ultimate goal? To create a life-size Buzz Lightyear! Once the printer arrives, my journey begins: setting it up, mastering the art of 3D printing, and eventually turning my own ideas into reality through CAD design.

That’s a quick catch-up on what’s been happening since my last post. Time flew by, but I’m excited to share my adventures with you. Stay tuned for more updates and insights into my wild journey!
