This is me with my 3d printer https://vm.tiktok.com/ZGe8c98S8/
Preparation has been completed! Will it work. It didn’t make the slightest difference, other than giving me empty pockets and a migraine!
Always go back to basics. This video is my go to, start from the beginning like it’s brand new. https://youtu.be/p82TT4tNsb4?feature=shared I tightened/ loosened all the eccentric nuts as per video. Re- levelled the table and printer. Tried a print failed. I then pissed about with the z-offset. It was the z offset all this fucking time! Onwards and upwards.
The print didn’t turn out great, most probably because I didn’t dry the filament, who cares. A successful print for the first time in a month! I’m chuffed with it. I can print again. Not holding my breath on it. See how far I can get with making Xmas presents. Fingers crossed, I’ll have a Santa’s sack full of prints to give out. Another relief is that I can actually write about my printing experience and keep this niche going! I was going to move on to another journey, not giving up on the 3d printing as such. Can create designs and concentrate on that path, sale designs. Get another printer that doesn’t deserve to be binned.
Safe to say, 3d printing is not a plain sailing hobby for sure. I’ve seen other videos saying, don’t give up on the ender 3 printer. I don’t have much choice. I don’t roll in money. It was a present to myself, I managed to save up for during the long hours I worked. Turns out to be a hellish present. Throw myself in the deep end. Become a guru the hard way. Build knowledge from it.
Once the Santa’s sack has been completed, I’m looking into making my own work bench out of pallets. I built a prototype of the enclosure for the printer using gym matts, from of course the one and only Temu. Throw in the cheeky affiliate link https://temu.to/m/uent4yltw1n Need to think of a way for when the print has finished, the front cover will drop and present you the print like it was made by Willy Wonka him self. Got a dry box for my filament to sit in. Will need to finish the build on that also along with the bench. I Can get a toaster oven on the cheap, store that somewhere on the bench. I shall place a silicone storage near it, so I can make my silicone builds out of waste filament.
Once that bench has been set up, move on to the painting and sticking side of the prints. Sometimes I think of getting rid of my bed and making it into an arts and crafts room. It looks ugly in the lounge right now. Grab another sofa bed. A more comfortable one. I live in the lounge and have stations in the double bedroom. I’ll cross that path when it comes to it.
Got another 2 and half months till the grass cutting season hits again. My god. November disapeared and December is also slipping out of my hands. A fair bit of work to do. Can’t wait to share on my instagram the final set up.
